Chris Brown is out of jail!
The singer was released around midnight after serving 108 days of his 131-day sentence, TMZ reports.
Brown had been in custody since mid-March, after he was dismissed from a Malibu facility where he was receiving treatment for anger management, substance abuse and issues related to bipolar disorder. He subsequently admitted a probation violation over an altercation last year outside a Washington, D.C. hotel.
Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin had initially sentenced Brown to serve a year in county jail, but gave him credit for nearly eight months of time served in jail and rehab.
Brown was first placed on probation in 2009 after assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna before the Grammy Awards. He’s also facing a misdemeanour assault charge for the incident in D.C., the trial for which is expected to begin in the next few months.
While behind bars, Brown reportedly collaborated on music with R&B singer James DeBarge, who was located in the cell next to him.
