NEWS: Brazilian Football Legend Pele, Hurt Over Neymar's Injury

Pele said Saturday his heart ached for Neymar after Brazil’s star player was ruled out of the rest of the World Cup but noted that the team lifted the 1962 trophy despite his own injury.

The football legend, recalling that Neymar had played at Santos like him, wrote on Twitter that “it hurts our hearts to know that he can no longer defend Brazil in the World Cup.”

“I was also injured during the 1962 World Cup in Chile, and I was out for the rest of the tournament,” he wrote in English and Portuguese.

“But God helped Brazil continue on to win the Championship. I hope the same will happen with our Selecao in this World Cup.”

Neymar was ruled out of the rest of the tournament after breaking a vertebrae when Colombian defender Juan Camilo Zuniga kneed him in the lower back during Brazil’s 2-1 victory quarter-final victory on Friday.

Brazil will face Germany in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Four years after winning their first World Cup, the Selecao had to play without Pele in the tournament in Chile after he was injured against Czechoslovakia in the second game.

But they managed to win their second World Cup thanks to the dribbling skills of another legend, Garrincha.

NEWS: Jessica Simpson Marries Eric Johnson In California

Felicitations are in order for Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson: the couple of four years, 33 and 34 respectively, married earlier tonight in an outdoor ceremony in Santa Barbara County.

"We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment," the couple said in a statement to People. "To say 'I do' in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives." 

The singer/actress/designer and former NFL tight end tied the knot at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, the same spot where Melissa Etheridge and partner Linda Wallem exchanged vows earlier this year. Simpson wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown.

The 250 guests in attendance included Simpson's sister Ashlee Simpson and her fiancé Evan Ross, Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren, and CaCee Cobb and Donald Faison. The couple's two children Maxwell Drew Johnson, 2, and Ace Knute Johnson, 1, served as flower girl and ring bearer, respectively.

Simpson and Johnson began dating in May of 2010; Johnson proposed in November of the same year, but wedding plans had been delayed several times due to the arrival of their two children. This is the second marriage for both newlyweds!

NEWS: Grammy Winning Jazz Flutist, Paul Horn Dies Aged 84

Paul Horn, the Grammy-winning jazz flutist and New Age music pioneer, has died at the age of 84.

Horn's son Marlen said his father died Sunday in Vancouver, British Columbia, after a brief illness. He declined to provide further details.

"He passed away very peacefully and did not suffer," Marlen said. "He wasn't in any pain."

Horn's career spanned five decades, 50 albums and five Grammy nominations. He played the flute, clarinet and saxophone in concert tours and recording sessions with such artists as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington and Chico Hamilton.

His album "Jazz Suite on the Mass Texts" won Grammys in 1966 for best original jazz composition and photographic cover album.

Horn studied transcendental meditation alongside the Beatles with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Horn's albums "Inside the Taj Mahal" and "Inside the Great Pyramid" laid the groundwork for the New Age music genre and earned him the nickname "Father of New Age Music."

Horn is survived by his wife, two sons, a stepson and four grandchildren!

NEWS: Lil Wayne's Daughter, Reginae Carter, Officially A Young Money Artist

Lil Wayne has been providing us with some sort of new information, track, preview, or video about himself for weeks now during his Weezy Wednesday segment. After receiving a teaser last week for his new Carter V track “Krazy”, Tunechi decided to turn his focus onto someone else this week and reveal some exciting news.

As stated above, Tunechi used his Weezy Wednesday platform to announce that his daughter, Reginae Carter, is now an official member of the Young Money roster. He also used this time to premiere her new video "Mind Goin’ Crazy", which serves as the first single from her upcoming Young Money debut album Becoming Reginae. 

For any of y’all unfamiliar with Reginae, she is the 16 year old daughter of Lil Wayne and Antonia Wright. She is not only working on her debut album & book, but she also recently linked up with Birdman’s daughter, Bria Williams, to work on a new clothing line titled YMCMP (Young Money Cash Money Princesses).

In an interview from 2013, Young Money President, Mack Maine, was quoted describing Reginae as “a super megastar” and said we can “just expect greatness” from her in the future. Guess time will only tell for now.

NEWS: Brazil In The World Cup Semi-Final Spot, Neymar Carried Off

David Silva’s screaming free kick gave Brazil a 2-1 win over Colombia on Friday to seal a World Cup semi-final place but the favourites saw Neymar stretchered off and captain Thiago Silva suspended for the next clash.

Silva bundled over a Neymar corner kick in the seventh minute to put his country ahead.

But he earned his second yellow card of the tournament in the second half for barging into Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina and will misss the semi-final against Germany next Tuesday.

Luiz stepped up to smash an unstoppable 30 metre free kick past Ospina in the 78th minute. But Neymar was carried off in agony late in the game after a rough challenge from Colombia defender Juan Camillo Zuniga.

NEWS: Kefee's Burial On July 11 In Sapele, Nigeria

The remains of late pop-gospel singer, Kefee Irikefe Don-Momoh nee Obareki, will be laid to rest next Friday, July 11, 2014 in her hometown, Okpara-Inland, Ethiope East Local Government area of Delta State.

The deceased’s family said this, while receiving members of the Kefee Memorial Committee, a collection of artistes and entertainment personalities, who paid a condolence visit to the late singer’s parents in their Sapele home in Delta.

A statement released by her publicist in Lagos, Thursday, states that Kefee’s husband, Teddy Don-Momoh has been making frantic arrangements to bring her body back from the United States, where she passed on at Desert Spring Hospital, Las Vegas, after 15 days in coma, resulting from lungs failure on June 13.

According to reports, the husband would arrive the country first to receive her body before taking the corpse down to Delta State for burial!

(Azalea was also nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist along with Angel Hazel, Charli Baltimore, and Eve.)

“This is my mind state about everything and the only time I’m ever going to refer to this again so go nuts guys, enjoy it,” the 24-year-old wrote on her Instagram post which included a statement addressing the controversy.

“Ps. If you squint exxxtra hard you can see tiny elves having illuminati meetings between the lines in my notes app too,” she added. So what did the “Fancy” rapper have to say about it all? Much ado about nothing! “I have to say the general explosion of pettiness online in the last few days is hard to ignore and honestly…lame,” Azalea began her statement.

“If I had won the BET award that would’ve been great but it wasn’t my year and I don’t mind — so you shouldn’t either,” she told her fans. “Generally speaking, I’m unbothered by anything that “happened” at the BET awards and just feel worn out by everyone trying to make me have wars with people all the time.
