NEWS: New Dating App Wyldfire Wants To Fix Everything That’s Wrong With Online Dating

Over the past few years, online dating apps have evolved to help match you with mates either long-term or just for right now. But going through the process of setting up a profile, putting in the work to maintain conversations and finally meeting up can be a pain.

OkCupid takes too much time, Tinder is mostly for hookups and Hinge is still limited across the country.

For women, the online dating struggle is even more complicated and creepy. They’re overwhelmed with attention from aggressive guys who usually only want one thing. That’s why Brian Freeman created Wyldfire, a new app that focuses on the ladies first.

Freeman and his cofounder, Andrew White, had just gotten out of long-term relationships and were dissatisfied with their experiences on popular dating apps like Tinder.

Wyldfire’s mission is to be a comfortable, “creep free” dating experience. The app has a ton of features to make women feel better about searching for a mate online.

To make Wyldfire more women-centric, guys can only join if they’re invited by a girl.

After a woman creates her profile, she’s asked to invite one guy. This is done via an anonymous text message, but you can elect to not be anonymous, if you want.

Once you’re in, you can choose a set of Instagram-like filters for your photos and start matching. If you connect with someone you like, you can see basic information from their interests and choose to chat.

Chat is limited to 20 messages so that you’re not wasting anyone’s time. At any point in a chat, you can choose to share contact information like your Instagram profile, phone number and email.

Wyldfire separates itself from the pack by giving statistics on your profile, too. This means you can see how well you’re doing compared to other users, the best photos that work for you and which profiles are trending, like the popular page on Instagram.

While we haven’t tried to the app, we’re excited to test it out and see if it will finally fix everything that’s wrong with online dating.

Wyldfire is set to launch next week on the iPhone, but before it does, the team put together this promo video for you to check out!
