NEWS: Ghanian Hiplife Musician, Castro Dies From Drowning In A Jet Ski Accident


Hiplife Musician, Castro has died.

He is reported to have drowned in a jet ski accident in Ada on Sunday, July 6th.

Reports say the celebrated and award-winning Ghanaian musician was trying to save a female friend from drowning when he drowned.

According to eyewitnesses, Castro together with the Captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan and three others were on a weekend trip.

The group reportedly rented jet skis and went on the water where the unfortunate accident occurred.

Gyan and Castro have collaborated on a number of award-winning hit songs in Ghana.

Asamoah Gyan owns Baby Jet Promotions, which is the label Castro works under.

They have been friends for over 10 years.

Theophilus Tagoe, aka Castro hails from Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.

He was born in 1982 to Lydia Tagoe, a trader, and Mr Coffie, an accountant, at the Takoradi Harbour.

He attended Anglican Primary and J.S.S in Takoradi.

Before he launched his debut album in 2003, he had featured on hip-life group 4×4 hit track, “sikletele” which officially introduced him into the local music scene.
